Brake pads

Brake drums and brake shoes
Brake drums are used on the rear axles of smaller vehicles and commercial vehicles. They are also used as a parking brake. In larger passenger cars, they are also used as a combination of a brake drum and a brake disc, the so-called disc-drum, where brake shoes mounted inside the disc are responsible for the parking brake.

Brake and clutch hydraulics

The master cylinder is responsible for generating hydraulic pressure which, via the brake fluid, is transferred to the brake calipers on disc brakes or to the brake cylinders on drum brakes. Similarly, in the case of the clutch system, the clutch pump generates pressure in the system and, via the hydraulic fluid, exerts pressure on the clutch slave cylinder (clutch actuator) which, by pressing down on the clutch foot, allows the clutch to be disengaged, i.e. the disc is released from the clutch.
ABS sensors
ABS sensors are small devices, but they play an extremely important role in vehicle safety systems. They are responsible for monitoring the wheel speed, and through a digital signal processing technology, they communicate the result of the measurement to the ABS control module. If different speeds of individual wheels are registered, the ABS pump adjusts the pressure in the system until the wheel rotates again. This process takes place several times every second.
ABS sensors are also responsible for providing information to all advanced vehicle safety systems such as traction control, lane stabilization, hill descent control and others based on wheel speed control.
